The opportunity

Due to unprecedented growth we have an exciting opportunity for an Application Security Engineer to join our fast growing Content Engineering team.

In 2020 we launched Secure Coding - this exciting addition to our market-leading platform teaches developers how to write secure code. We are creating labs that take our users from the basics of writing a secure application avoiding the standard OWASP pitfalls through to building secure public cloud-hosted web apps.

In this role, you will be a key member of ourl Application Security content team, helping to deliver on our Secure Coding roadmap of content and research that our community and partners will devour.

This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for developing a truly ground breaking product. If you want to have a large impact and contribute more than just your time, this could be the role for you - we value determination, ingenuity, collaboration and an understanding that unique products require unique technical solutions.

You'll get to work in a friendly multi-disciplinary agile team and also work on innovative ideas one day a fortnight in our 10% time that allows you to pursue personal projects and research or collaborate with your peers to innovate and have fun doing it!

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Help develop a set of resources to help users understand the vulnerabilities for each lab and how to mitigate them
  • Help develop an automated set of tests that can verify that the user has fixed a given vulnerability
  • Understand the learning process for software developers to challenge and teach them through Immersive Labs

 

To be successful:

  • Software Development knowledge of backend web development technologies such as Python, Ruby, Node, PHP, or Java
  • Desire and passion to learn about secure coding practices
  • Interest in writing theory and online learning content about programming, secure coding, IT/Computing and/or Cyber would be an advantage
  • Any experience developing in other languages would be beneficial
  • An understanding of the OWASP Top 10 Web application risks would be an advantage

Secure Coding is an exciting addition to our market-leading platform that teaches developers how to write secure code.   • Translate technical language/concepts for non-technical individuals written and orally

Due to our phenomenal growth, we are seeking an experienced Back-end Engineer skilled in working within AWS & using Node.js. In this newly created position, you will get to play a massive role in the future success of Immersive Labs by defining and implementing innovative solutions. You will contribute new ideas and take the lead in helping improve the way we work as we scale, working alongside a world-class team of Engineers.

You'll get to work in a friendly multi-disciplinary agile team and there will be plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and technologies. You will also get access to our cyber skills and secure coding platform, and on top of this, you will have a personal technical skills budget.  

You will have an opportunity to join Trailblaze time which is a whole day once every 2 weeks to innovate and explore new tools and technologies.

 

Your main responsibilities:

You'll get to immerse yourself in a modern tech stack such as Node.js and React, along with cloud-native technologies in AWS such as Lambda and DynamoDB.

You'll join a small team within our SnapLabs division, responsible for building and running a modern serverless application which manages infrastructure for numerous customers. We want to give you a place where you'll learn from us and we'll learn from you through getting involved in the following:

  • Design, build, and improve a serverless application running in AWS
  • Formulate technical solutions from product requirements in collaboration with others to create a highly stable, secure, scalable and extensible platform
  • Architect and implement scalable infrastructure solutions
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and bugs in the code, and devise solutions to these problems to minimise customer impact
  • Build and maintaining good test coverage over all aspects of the codebase by performing unit tests and integration tests

 

To be successful you will have (so please make sure it is on your CV):

  • Demonstrable and up-to-date knowledge of Node.js (experience with TypeScript would be an advantage)
  • Experience creating and maintaining serverless applications with technologies such as AWS Lambda & DynamoDB
  • Ability to provision and manage services in AWS using CloudFormation or similar Infrastructure-as-Code solutions such as Terraform
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind secure, scalable applications
  • Proficient understanding of Git / GitHub

High-performing teams are the key to Immersive Labs rapid growth and we need you to help continue the high levels of performance that is changing the face of cybersecurity by joining us as a Cybersecurity Team Manager.

You will support the day-to-day operations and delivery of our cyber content team in line with our quality standards. You will work closely with our product owners, helping to ensure the delivery of content aligns with the strategic vision of the product and roadmap. You will also interact with the product and engineering teams to ensure effective delivery of content being created as well as line managing staff. .

 

Your main responsibilities:

As a Cyber Security Manager you will delegate and assign work to teams and individuals. You will shape an inclusive environment with a strong collaborative culture and lead on the line management of our content team engineers by mapping their career development, conducting regular 121s and identifying training programs and requirements.

You will proactively identify and deliver projects to improve the Content’s team ways of working and delivery of the Company vision.

Other responsibilities would include;

  • Responsible for the tactical and operational planning and content delivery of the team, helping to ensure that it aligns with the roadmap we have set out
  • Support Agile ceremonies including; Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, and Sprint retrospectives
  • Partner with other managers and sub-teams to understand performance, identify growth bottlenecks and enablers
  • Help design, implement, and maintain internal performance management framework and overall company KPI framework 
  • Assist in the delivery of metrics and data to calculate ROI of each team and analyze team performance, pain points and quality issues

 

To be successful:

  • Technical hands-on cyber skills are not necessary for this role but a high level interest in Cybersecurity and an understanding of cyber terminology would be very useful. Understanding of application security specifically is a plus.
  • You can demonstrate excellence in managing a high-performing team, including attracting, mentoring, inspiring, and driving excellent results from an exceptional team.  
  • You have experience implementing change initiatives 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally effectively

  • Researching cybersecurity, technology and technical concepts to understand the learnings, and translate to a non-technical audience
  • Formulate and execute a disruptive and radical approach to cyber workforce equipping that will engage our clientbase
  • Collaborating on exercises & content creation based upon research
  • You will take complex concepts and teach them in a simple and engaging way to a varied audience

Due to unprecedented growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Application Security SME to join our fast growing Content Engineering team.

You will write deliberately vulnerable web applications for Immersive Labs and help us educate developers around the world on how to fix vulnerabilities in their code and create more secure applications. 

Secure Coding is an exciting addition to our market-leading platform that teaches developers how to write secure code. We are creating labs that take our users from the basics of writing a secure application avoiding the standard OWASP pitfalls through to building secure public cloud-hosted web apps.

In this role, you will head up our internal Application Security content team, helping to define and then lead on delivery of our Secure Coding roadmap of content and research that our community and partners will devour.

This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for developing a truly ground breaking product.   • Develop secure coding labs in multiple languages
  • Understand the learning process for software developers to challenge and teach them through immersive labs
  • Collaborate with the Go To Market team to maximise sales and marketing opportunities
  • Be a visible figure at events to advocate the Immersive product
  • Cooperate with the Product Team to ensure the platform supports the latest ideas and innovation
  • Connect with the UX Lead to deliver an Immersive experience and continually improve the offering. 

To be successful:

  • Software Development experience across multiple languages such as PHP, Ruby, Node, Javascript, Python, .Net and C#
  • Deep and demonstrable understanding of developing secure software / pen testing / OWASP top 10
  • Interest in writing theory and online learning content about programming, secure coding, IT/Computing and/or Cyber would be an advantage
  • An understanding of the OWASP Top 10 Web application risks would be an advantage
  • Comfortable presenting research both internally and externally to clients and at info sec conferences
  • Familiarity with Linux and Docker 
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills

Product Manager - Data

Data is literally about to become the coolest thing at Immersive Labs: it is one of the most critical parts of our Cyber Workforce Optimisation roadmap. Due to this and rocket ship growth we are looking for a brilliant Product Manager to own the roadmap and development of our Immersive Intelligence product. (Sounds exciting right?!)

You’ll work closely with Emma Stowell, Director of Data Science, Analytics & Insight, the Data and Product teams and the most enjoyable Paul Bentham our CPO (if you haven’t listened to Paul on our Cyber Humanity podcast, you're missing out!)

We’d love to hear from you if you’re a product manager from either a data background or have worked on data products before. You’ll need to be super passionate about the use of data science in a product.

 

Your main responsibilities (we're scaling fast, so these may change as we grow):

  • Own the vision for the Immersive Intelligence product, working with the business to identify the features and improvements in line with the higher level business initiatives and stakeholder requirements.
  • Work with other PM’s to ensure any inter-team dependencies are taken into account during discovery.
  • Help to define outcomes for data science/analytics products and manage these to delivery
  • Work with stakeholders, key customers and the product team to devise and refine automated decision making features that meet customer and business needs via a data driven, analytical approach
  • Optimise existing features by taking into account customer feedback, competitor analysis & the evolving cyber security landscape.
  • Lead discovery work around a minimum viable product (MVP) for any new data intelligence product, collaborating with user experience (UX), engineering and data teams to prototype and validate an MVP.
  • Understand Customer needs in the area of automated decision making and work with the team to get to suggested data products to meet these needs.
  • Ensure the delivery of cross-product data features and services delivering a strong foundation on which other product managers can deliver valuable features 
  • Assist with queries and clarification that may arise during the process of delivering the features.

Success in this role will depend most on your approach, underlying skills, passion for data science and potential for growth, even if some of the above would be new to you. You should apply if you have:

  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization and the ability to influence peers by articulating the product offering and value to business partners
  • Commercial experience in product management, delivering tangible results, evidenced by case studies showing the outcomes of your work.
  • Ideally a background in managing a data product or a product manager who has worked in a data role. But we’d also consider individuals who can demonstrate a passion for data landscape
  • Familiar with agile project management techniques and tools, we use JIRA
  • Experience in a rapidly evolving organisation with ambitious goals collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Able to demonstrate how you've made the right judgements, prioritising a backlog based on business and customer needs

As a Quality Engineer, you will be part of a new multi-disciplined agile team and bring your knowledge of quality and testing to ensure our high standards are met in the delivery of our products. 

You will be testing our products with a mix of manual testing and automated tools.  We know quality is more than testing, so you will also be involved in everything from proof of concepts to post-release.  

You will be a confident communicator and liaise with stakeholders to deliver high-quality features with business value to our customers.

There will be plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and technologies as you will also get access to our platform, and on top of this, you will have a personal technical skills budget.   

You will have an opportunity to join Trailblaze time which is a whole day once every 2 weeks to innovate and explore new tools and technologies.

The opportunity

The Senior Delivery Lead role is a new role created due to the exciting growth at Immersive Labs, so you will be very well received and very much in demand! This is both exciting and challenging in equal measure as you join our expanding Delivery team.

 

This role will be instilling agility into our teams, helping them to work smarter and more efficiently within a safe space and with a view to them becoming more autonomous in the way they work as a team.

The opportunity

The Senior Product Manager is wholly responsible for a particular product line and roadmap, owning the vision, and becoming the expert for your product. You will develop strong understanding of the commercial and strategic priorities of the company, and work with the business to identify and shape the features that optimise the realisation of customer value in line with the higher level business initiatives and stakeholder requirements. You’ll work alongside the Delivery and Engineering teams to deliver these features, defining and measuring success.

 

Your main responsibilities (we're scaling fast, so these may change as we grow):

  • Become an expert in how the major elements of the product work, providing product support to Sales and Customer Success, demonstrating product features and eliciting user feedback.
  • Take a data driven, analytical approach to prioritising and refining new features and product enhancements that meet customer and business needs.
  • Set, track and optimise success metrics to ensure that deliverables are defined and measurable.
  • Prioritise and organise features and technical requirements for your product area, ensuring a focus is maintained on delivering value to customers.
  • Ensure a clear product roadmap is created, managed and communicated so that development work, marketing and release can be planned. Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure effective go-to-market. 
  • Collaborate cross-product with other Product Managers to ensure any inter-team dependencies are taken into account during planning, and to share best practice.
  • Lead and inspire the Product Delivery teams, ensuring they have the rationale and motivation required to deliver the product vision.
  • Develop user stories with agreed acceptance criteria. Work with the Delivery and Engineering teams to ensure stories are correctly refined, technical constraints, dependencies and prerequisites are identified and that the product vision is realised.
  • Ensure a balance of Technical Debt, feature development and Technical Prerequisite work is undertaken in a responsible and timely manner to ensure feature delivery and product performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong market awareness and deep understanding of the cyber landscape, key competitors, and a range of customer and user segments.
